Gettin' Rodeo Ready!

We all know how Bess loves her horses! Well, it's time to help her on her way with a new upgraded Corral!

As well as five new missions (all details HERE) you'll get the chance for new horses and new skills!

If you don't have a corral you'll receive this popup: (Must be level 22)

Or you'll see this when clicking to upgrade in your Corral Menu:

Once you accept the challenge you'll get the usual parts popup giving you a look at what you'll need to get to upgrade the Corral. It's the normal setup with three direct requests needing 15 and three wall request items needing 10:

Once you upgrade your Corral this is what it'll look like:

You'll then get to buy more types of horse from the previous three although the Palomino is locked until you complete the 5 mission thread for upgrading and for some people the Ivory Andalusian will need three new neighbours, then be buyable for 100k:

We've also now found out the reason behind levelling your horse! After completing Mission III in the thread you'll be able to upgrade your horse's speed, spirit, agility and endurance with skill points allocated when you level up. This will all be available under the "Manage Horses" section of the Corral and will also be used for four new badges (info HERE) Don't forget that your horse can only level up to level 50, so after that you should start on a new horse, if you want to make the most of your Corral and hopefully get an advantage at the rodeo!

The Corral will also have crafting options to create things required during the Five missions!

Finally, training and using your horses will also pop out the new Tack Room Collection items, a Breast Collar, String Roper Cinch, Show Stirrups, Braided Reins and Silver Studded Headstall to get an Apple treat and 25 XP.

What's your thoughts on the new horses and the addition of skills? Come along and leave your thoughts on our Facebook Wall!

Jack's Diary to the Oregon Trail

SPECIAL FEATURE - As he's quick to tell anyone with a gram of chewing tobacco, an hour of spare time and a low boredom threshold Jack once tried the Oregon Trail.
Well, we've managed to pull off a massive coup by getting hold of the 12 days of Jack's diary where he prepared for the Oregon Trail! We copy it here in the hope it'll help all future pioneers aiming to hit the trail...

Jack's always one to do things in the easiest way he can so this will talk you through the quickest and easiest way to get to the trail AND help your neighbours at the same time... We've highlighted the main points.

[Diary Pages begin]

Day One: Quiet day today, harvested 10 crops, tended 10 of them there apple trees (I like 'em red) and tended 10 sheep... Must remember to leave some of them sheep for the neighbours to tend later... Planted some trees and swapped saplings with friends, I'll need em later and so will they... Cleared a big space for some debris to grow, note to self: leave wildflowers...

Day Two: Cleared out a bundle of 20 debris today, made sure to leave the wildflowers though, just get the feeling I'm gonna need as many wildflowers as I can. Some friends gave me some dead bugs... umm, thanks folks, I'm sure there's something I can do with them... Tended 40 pigs, those little porkers eat like you wouldn't believe. Tried to remember to get my daily building bonuses early, gotta do em again nice and early tomorrer.

Day Three: Collected three bonuses from buildings, gotta love them there Pony Express fellers. Had a bit of a session with the lumber trees, chopped em 15 times in all. Good to have the saplings I swapped around a few days ago, let me save my grown up trees for later... Had some spare time so visited 8 neighbours.

Day Four: Planted 10 Peach Trees as soon as I got up, gonna need them soon, also bought 25 pigs from the market to grow. Went round the neighbours helpin' out. Tended 20 crops and tended 20 sheep, good thing we left em after Day One, good to help some other folks.

Day Five: Checked and fed pigs. Ruddy varmints, clobbered three groundhogs from crops (couldn't use the traps, they didn't work) and clobbered a bear, glad I had a full grown tree around. Couldn't use them new fangled cannons for either... didn't work. Checked pigs. Tended the 10 peach trees from yesterday which are fruitin' now. Checked pigs.

Day Six: Checked pigs. Bought myself 5 meals. Hired three friends to do some stuff round the stead. Checked pigs. Got hold of 12 prospecting gear. Popped down five cows and five oxen, good for other folks! Planted 30 Peppermint trees. Checked Pigs.

Day Seven: Checked Pigs. Hired two more friends doin' stuff. Checked pigs. Tended 25 neighbour's cows and 10 oxen, sure glad everyone popped em around their homestead. Checked pigs. Got myself 5 sawhorses, I gots em from care packages but others had to make em up with planks and tools. Water Peppermint. Check pigs.

Day Eight: Checked Pigs. Harvested them 30 peppermint I've been growin' up. Cleared 15 wildflowers, good not to have cleared 'em. Checked pigs. Got some newey fangleded glass vials, 20 of 'em from friends. Checked Pigs.

Day Nine: Got rid of some 500 food, was all the out of date veg. Sold them 25 adult pigs I've been feedin' up fer days. Made sure I left five behind for folks who'll need 'em soon. Got 10 cakes, got mine from care packages but I know with a bit of fire and batter other folks made 'em up.

Day Ten: Got 12 clothes, got em from Care Packages but cloth and money is what others be spendin' on em. Ditto those darn 4 comforters, I picked mine up from packages but it seems a bit of cloth and some downy feathers can make em for you. Got 20 heavy boots from friends, they all fit lovely although I aint gonna wear out that many. Just before bed planted 30 corn and 5 clovers...

Day Eleven: Tended 30 pigs for neighbour folks who left em around after selling them there 25 a few days ago. Harvested them 30 corn I started growin' last night, these new crops sure do grow quick. Went round neighbour folks homesteads and watered up some of them there withered crops. Left them 5 clover from last night around for neighbours to revive.

Day Twelve: Damn bears... had to clobber 8 of the flippin' things. Good thing I've left some adult trees around to tempt em out! Crafted me up some powder kegs, 5 in all, with fire and that Salty Paul stuff from the manure collection, got meself 20 hunting knives, think I'm ready to go!

Day Thirteen: Got that there wagon ready, Oregon Trail, here I come! Jack is going to be a name the whole frontier be knowin' soon, adventurer of the adventurers! Women want him, Men want to BE him... hah, Fort Courage here I come!

Day Fourteen: Ran out of Whisky. Floor lumpy to sleep on. Too many wolves. Came home. I'll wait for some young whippersnapper to get their butt here and just order em around a bit and get them to do the Oregon Trail instead... Same difference!

[Diary Ends]

The 12 Days Of Oregon Trailing!

Time to get your helping boots on and help out a pioneering family in need... and in return they'll show you the way to the Oregon Trail!

The McBaggins Family have broken down on your homestead and really need your help, you'll first find out about them by receiving a letter with handwriting you don't recognise...

Accepting the challenge will then put the McBaggins family as an addition by the side of your homestead (where the toy factory was at Christmas).

Now, just like Christmas there'll be 12 missions to complete, (details HERE) and they'll work side by side, you won't need to complete one to get the next to pop up...

Instead what you WILL need to do is log in daily! A new mission is activated each day when you log in, so if you log in for 5 days, you'll get 5 missions. Note it DOESN'T have to be every day, If you log in for two days, then take a few days off and log in for a third day, you'll get the third mission, you won't miss out on any missions or have to start again!

Once you finish 6 Missions you'll get a special reward of a nice sparkley pond to place on your homestead...

But the REALLY exciting thing happens when you complete all 12... That opens up your Conestoga Wagon and the chance to take on the Oregon Trail for yourself! So Saddle up and Wagon's Roll!

(Please note we've been told the wagon is a placeholder image, the real one will look MUCH nicer!)

As you do the missions you'll also have the chance to fill the Oregon Trail Collection and get a branded leather pelt!

Water, Water Everywhere!

Is everything feeling a little dry on your homestead? Well, it's time to build a... well...

The new Wells bring a set of three missions with them (all info HERE) and are similar to the beehive bonus but for animals.

You'll find a wellspring by clearing debris and tree stumps and will get a prompt to build a well, it wont be available in the market, purely a random occurrence.

Just like injured animals you'll have a chance to either build the well now, build it later but keep the wellspring or cover over the wellspring entirely and wait for a new one. The well has a tiny footprint and is only the same size as the beehive, a quarter of a tile.

Once the Well is placed it requires six new building supplies to finish, Shovels, Rope and Bucket, Spigot, Hand Crank, Pulley and Dowsing Rods:

The first three are requested via walls, the second two via direct requests and the dowsing rods are requested in Well Mission II, Water Ho!

When you complete the Well you'll also get a special mystery animal, a blue frog or a yellow turtle! (there's an even chance of getting each)

Then the well, when clicked, will give out daily bonuses for animals and plants:

Common: Cow, Squash, Pumpkin, Eggplant
Less Common: Ox, Sunflower, Corn, Flax
Rare: Mule, Cotton, Peanut, Peas

You'll also pick up XP, and coins.

Each Well can be collected from twice a day and is good for 10 bonuses before it dries up and a new one is needed. When that happens a new wellspring will appear when clearing debris again!

As with all new buildings it'll also come along with it's own collection!

And it's own Well Warrior badge:

Badge 1: Collect 8 Well bonuses - Reward: 100 coins, 200XP
Badge 2: Collect 25 Well bonuses - Reward: 500XP, 1 Crystal Goblet
Badge 3: Collect 100 Well bonuses - Reward: 1'000 coins, 1'000XP
Badge 4: Collect 250 Well bonuses - Reward: 1500XP, 1 Water Pump

More as and when we get it, let us know what you think via our Facebook Page.

Get Yourself A Faithful Friend!

Yep, it's time to get a faithful canine buddy who's a little more active than the old dog in your kennel!

You must be Level 20 to get the option of building the Pet Store and will either get the popup above or a prompt from the Old Dog in your Doghouse (If you have one...)

Once you've agreed this will kick off a series of five Pet Shop Missions (All details HERE) and start the procedure of getting hold of your puppy pal.

The Pet Shop will require a mix of materials, 15 Kennels and 15 Dog Beds that are directly requested from neighbours, 10 each of Scratching Posts, Litter Boxes and Aquariums and 1 Pet Crate which is awarded for finishing Pet Shop Mission IV.

Once you've built the Pet Store AND the Doghouse you'll have a chance to enter the puppy market and pick yourself a pooch!

That companion will then follow you around your homestead, doing it's own activities, helping you out and occasionally getting a call of nature, all while looking worryingly cute... You can get it to wait by it's bowl if you don't want it following you however.

From what we can see right now they stay as puppies but will eventually grown into fully sized dogs and do chores around the homestead :)

There's also two new collections, one for the building which rewards a Chunky Chow and 50XP:

And one for the Puppy... called the Pee Collection that gets you a Yellow Snow Sign and 50XP

Pleased as punch pooch to be getting yourself a puppy? Let us know your thoughts on our Facebook Page...
