Homestead Holidays

There's not much left of Summer so the Homesteaders had better make the most of it with some Summer Vacations!

Hank and Fanny, Jack and the soon to be parents Bess and Ted all want to take a holiday but there is, as usual, enough problems to keep us busy for a while trying to sort them out!

Yep, even holidays are beyond the Homesteaders powers to sort themselves, but hey, if they did, we'd have nothing to do after all!

As usual, a popup kicks things off.

This will kick off 3 series of 3 missions and a wrapper each, along with a Monday mission (all details HERE). As with all types of this mission there's no build, but there is a small placeable decoration, the Lawn Chair.

This contains the mission map which will unlock over the course of 3 days and also contain a fishing mechanics that will drop mission items.

There's a small chain of healables, which starts with a Vacation Suitcase...

...that becomes one of three different healables, the Tire Swing, Slippy Slide or Hammock.

They, in turn, become some Summer Animals!

We will get a new free gift crop, the Tomatillo...

Finally, for new stuff we're going to see a new fun gift to send each other as we have a Water Balloon fight on Monday! We'll craft Water Balloons and send to each other that then turn into openable crates with mission based goodies inside!

So, Time to enjoy the last stages of Summer with some holiday fun... BOMBS AWAY!

Jack's Crazy In Office...

PLEASE NOTE: This post was originally posted on the 19th April 2014. A second chance to purchase Keys unlocked on the 3rd July 2014, and then a third on 26th August.

Ohhh boy.... I thought it may happen one day and it has... Jack's gone totally loopy and even Granny can't keep him controlled for long!

So, to try and distract him, we need to give him something to do, and that something will be to turn things around a bit so he does some work for us, not the other way around...

Now, first up, a note, this is NOT a mission series and is also totally optional, it's a special premium trick, along with a pretty brilliant decoration/Building attached... :D

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you... Crazy Jack....

I know, how ace is that?

So, what is Crazy Jack going to do? Well, he's going to have a special ONE OFF purchase option where we can buy a Straightjacket Key for two dollars to complete one of a selection of missions, specifically made up of some final missions of threads, wrappers or Monday Missions, one of the real toughies.

Doing this will complete the mission but also give you ALL rewards, so you don't lose out on anything.

Clicking him will bring up one of two things, a purchase screen...

...and a mission manager where missions will be kept that can be completed, as you can see there will be two options, one to see the standard requirements, and one to finish the mission!

PLEASE NOTE: Take care picking which mission to complete as you can only buy ONE Straightjacket Key.

Finally, you also get a Crazy Jack Crate.

The crate can contain ONE of this list: 2 Horseshoes, 50 Cattle Power, 100 Gold Dust or All You Can Eat Meal.

...and ONE of this list: Escargot Boost, Animal Edibles, Fertile Ash, Foie Gras, Sweet Payoff, Strange elixir, Saving Grace, Animal Vaccine, Dream Boost or Deep Fried Chocobar!

OK, something VERY important to note. As stated previously the Straightjacket Key is a One Off purchase and you will have to refresh the game to receive it.

If you purchase from Crazy Jack again you will NOT receive a second Straightjacket Key, just a Crazy Jack Crate and a small mystery item. So please don't try to buy more Keys until the next "window" opens.

State of Play

We've finally done it, the Frontier has got full Statehood!

Of course, even though we've succeeded with getting to be a State, that's no reason to ease up and now we're going to be making sure we have everything in place to be a State in more than name only!

That means setting up some Frontier-specific State Departments and building ourselves not just a Capitol building but also... a very large, VERY personal monument to all the work we've been doing to get to this stage.

First up, as usual, it's popup time...

That starts up a series of 5 missions and an OPTIONAL Timed quest arriving on Monday (all details HERE) along with a four step build (all details HERE).

We will have one single stage building to place, the Capitol, which includes a fishing mechanic.

That mechanic then drops one of three State Departments which, when healed, themselves turn into one of three varieties with limited randomness.

We're also going to get something very personal, a brand new sidebar on the right hand side called Mount Frontiermore... not only will this feature Jack, Bess and Granny but also YOU... Yes, the fourth face on Mount Frontiermore is going to be the players own avatar!

Other than the sideboard we'll see the usual mix of new stuff... a new Free Gift Crop, Pink Hedges...

...a new Free Gift Tree, the Player Love Tree...

...some new reward animals...

...and a new boost! The State Tree Boost will give you 15 minutes of triple tends on any Fruit Tree, so one click feeds that tree three times with all associated bonuses, drops and mission allowances!

That will come in especially handy come Monday when we need to tend the new tree in a timed and optional Monday Mission (a la the golf mission) where repeating it will get better and better prizes, all the way up to a mess o' Horseshoes!

Like the Golf Bag, the mission will have it's own decoration, Jack's Forum, which will track your progress and let you collect the rewards when the mission finishes.

In addition we'll also get extra rewards if we manage to complete a new badge, which is also timed and records the amount of times we've repeated the mission...

So, what are you waiting for? The State is out there... make it the best!

You Little Charmer!

Jack's got sick of the varmints on the homestead and has decided to do something about them...

No, wait, that's too proactive for Jack. Jack's got sick of the varmints on the homestead and has decided YOU should do something about them, that's more like it!

Jack's been reading up about the old legend of the Pied Piper and he reckons that with your musical talent you can probably charm those Varmints and then, of course, find something to do with them that won't mean they come back to cause a nuisance again.

As usual, a popup kicks things off.

That will start a 4 mission, one wrapper, one Monday mission thread (all details HERE) and a three step build, the Varmint Technical Academy (all details HERE)

The missions themselves are a basic partnering thread, with various partnerable Varmint variations.

We start out with a Varmint Burrow (coin) or a Humane Shelter (HS). They're healed with 6 Alluring Flutes or 4 Sweet Piccolos respectively, both of which are single Wall Posts.

They will then drop one of four types of Partner Animal, of which for missions we only need two of the variations.

They're each fed with 34 Varmint Tuition, a crafted item (check the misison posts for full crafting details.

We'll have a new free gift crop which will be used for that crafting, Angel Trumpets...

...and that's pretty much all you need for this fairly simple new thread!

So, lets be extra charming...

Total Eclipse of the Crow

One of the most Auspicious portents for the Wikiwah is incoming, a full Solar Eclipse!

With it being such a special time for the tribe it's seen as the perfect time for Storm Crow to take her rite of passage into being a fully fledged Shaman for the Wikiwah!

For her to do that she's going to have to get over her own insecurities, complete some tests from Laughing Bear and perform a number of rituals to find out what the Solar Eclipse will bring... with our help, of course!

As usual, a popup will kick off proceedings...

That will start off a series of 8 missions with a pair of wrappers and a Monday mission (all details HERE). There will be no build however.

What there will be is a small decoration, the Sun Drum...

...which will contain the undeniably gorgeous mission screen for this series.

From there, it's all fairly simple, a couple missions a day and a typical set of requirements including one new single state healable, the Sun Guide:

...and a pair of healables with varieties, the Moon Guide and the Fire Belly Frog...

They'll all have the same basic feed, for which the new free gift crop will feature heavily, Earth Stars...

...and that feed can also be combined with a drop item to make special feed to send to neighbours, when we receive that back it counts as 4 tends on any of the healables!

They will also count towards a pair of new badges:

We'll also see a second new boost, the Eclipse Boost which is something completely new, this boost will instantly make ready ALL animals stored in the Animal Hospital!

Finally, we'll have a timed personal collection meter, a bit like the recent community collections but just for each person individually, that will track a drop from the missions and reward us anything up to 75 Horseshoes!

So, what are you waiting for? Let's get spiritual in the dark...
