Everyone Wants a Vote...

Politics is a controversial business at times and the homestead is no different.

It seems the outlying areas aren't happy about the amount of representation they're getting in local politics and are arriving on the homestead to protest!

It's up to you, Jack and a friendly local lawyer, RD, to get the problem solved, calm some fiery thoughts and get everyone on the same page again...

As usual a popup will kick things off...

That then starts a Map Mission series, which means 3 groups of 3 missions, a wrapper for each and a Monday mission (all details HERE).

As usual for Map Missions we will have a placeable decoration, the Lawyer Shack, which will contain the eponymous map...

The missions themselves, which arrive a thread per day, will each have their own healable attached which will become three versions apiece.

The healing item for all of them will be a wall post item and a drop from the new free gift crop for this thread, the Nasturtium Flower...

Each thread will also have it's own... well, I was going to say animal but it's one Cousin, one dead Wikiwah Chief and one Tomb...

Completing the missions will then reward us with a new mount, the Lumberjack Bear, a new Boost, the Wikiwah Power and a new clothing item, direct from Ursula in Ghost Town!

So, what are you waiting for? It's time to give everyone a hand in how the stead is run...

Midwinter Knees-Up

It's time for the Midwinter Festival and this year the Wikiwah are arriving en masse on the homestead to celebrate with their stead based brethren and us!

This means some singing, some dancing, some Wikiwah rituals and Wikiwah offerings to get us coins, XP, Gold Dust and Horseshoes!

All we have to do is make the Wikiwah tribes from far and wide welcome at home and join in with a few little rituals, we might even find one of our own gets a position bump if we do everything right with them!

So, as usual, it's a popup to start.

That will kick off a series of 8 repeatable missions (2 a day) with a pair of wrappers and a Monday mission (all details HERE). As ever with this kind of thread we won't have a building but we will have three decorations.

Each of those decorations comes with a fishing mechanic which will drop boosts, crops, mission goodies and things that we can sell for all manner of reward, including Gold Dust and Horseshoes!

As well as those we'll also have one injured animal, the Elder Tee Pee...

...and a new free gift crop that we'll use for the healing, Indian Pipe.

If we do make the Wikiwah at home we'll pick up some festival rewards including the Dancing Bear, a decoration with a bonus...

...and our own Wikiwah festival garb!

So, what are you waiting for? Let's celebrate Midwinter with the Wikiwah!

Crazy Little Thing Called Love

PLEASE NOTE: This post was originally posted on the 19th April 2014. A second chance to purchase Keys unlocked on the 3rd July 2014, a third on 26th August, a fourth on 28th of October and a fifth on the 21st January 2015.

Ohhh boy.... I thought it may happen one day and it has... Jack's gone totally loopy and even Granny can't keep him controlled for long!

So, to try and distract him, we need to give him something to do, and that something will be to turn things around a bit so he does some work for us, not the other way around...

Now, first up, a note, this is NOT a mission series and is also totally optional, it's a special premium trick, along with a pretty brilliant decoration/Building attached... :D

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you... Crazy Jack....

I know, how ace is that?

So, what is Crazy Jack going to do? Well, he's going to have a special ONE OFF purchase option where we can buy a Straightjacket Key for two dollars to complete one of a selection of missions, specifically made up of some final missions of threads, wrappers or Monday Missions, one of the real toughies.

Doing this will complete the mission but also give you ALL rewards, so you don't lose out on anything.

Clicking him will bring up one of two things, a purchase screen...

...and a mission manager where missions will be kept that can be completed, as you can see there will be two options, one to see the standard requirements, and one to finish the mission!

PLEASE NOTE: Take care picking which mission to complete as you can only buy ONE Straightjacket Key.

Finally, you also get a Crazy Jack Crate.

The crate can contain ONE of this list: 2 Horseshoes, 50 Cattle Power, 100 Gold Dust or All You Can Eat Meal.

...and ONE of this list: Escargot Boost, Animal Edibles, Fertile Ash, Foie Gras, Sweet Payoff, Strange elixir, Saving Grace, Animal Vaccine, Dream Boost or Deep Fried Chocobar!

OK, something VERY important to note. As stated previously the Straightjacket Key is a One Off purchase and you will have to refresh the game to receive it.

If you purchase from Crazy Jack again you will NOT receive a second Straightjacket Key, just a Crazy Jack Crate and a small mystery item. So please don't try to buy more Keys until the next "window" opens.

Peace, Love and Dino Storage

There's lights and music coming from over the hill as a whole new type of lifestyle arrives on the homestead.

We've had barn dances, Mexican music and even a bandstand... but now it's time for the free love brigade to arrive and spread a little peace and happiness onto the homestead... and if we take care of them, they'll let us use their Magic Fossil Wagon to store our Dino Bones...

The first thing they want is to set up a music festival, right here on the Frontier, and for that they need us.

As usual, a popup will herald the start of proceedings.

This will start a series of five missions, with a wrapper and a Monday mission (all details HERE). We will also have a four step build on a brand new Sidebar, the Music Festival... (all building details HERE).

We'll also have the Magic Fossil Wagon to place which, of course, will be our home for Dino Bones at the end of the missions.

As for the mission feature itself, it will be a new set of three different healables, the Drum Circle, Gig Box and Guitar Stand...

They will be healed with either Basic Flower Headbands (Drum Circle) and Basic Tuning Forks (Gig Box and Guitar Stand) or by Deluxe versions that we get in our inventory when friends send us the basic versions. They will then become one of three varieties.
We will see a new crop, Sweetgrass...

...and as well as Dino Storage (and some hefty Boosts) we'll also be able to release out inner hippie with the Star Child Costume for our avatars...

So, what are you waiting for? Practice your peace signs and thread some beads, it's festival time...

Daddy and the Diva

Bonnie and Clyde across America, The Kray Twins in London, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez with Gigli, all nefarious partnerships that brought terror to those around them... but none might be as feared as the latest threat to hit the homestead...

The pair known as Red Steele...

Yes, Red and the eternally bad Amy Steele have joined forces and decided to bring about a new gang by teaching the animals of the Frontier all the tricks of the criminal trade.

Now, it's up to us to stop them, with some help from Ted, the newly rehabilitated Eddy, Bigfoot, some heroic animals and... well, their own decision to post a public notification asking for Criminally Interested animals... ok, so maybe they won't be the MOST feared...

The obligatory popup will kick off a series of 5 missions with a Wrapper and a Monday mission (all details HERE) and a four stage build, the Criminal School (all details HERE).

Now, while the more intelligent (or cynical) among you will be thinking we could wreck Red and Amy's plans quite easily by not building their school, it does have a use, specifically a fishing mechanic that will pop out the start of this series' healable chain, the Wanted Board.

This, when healed will become one of three further animal groups, each of which will then become one of 3 variations.

As usual we'll see a new Free Gift Crop, the fiery Scorpion Pepper (that's what you call a tongue stinger...):

And completing the missions will give us a bundle of rewards including a new boost, 2 more Raised Beds slots for up to 40 more crops and our own Burglar Outfit!

So, pick a side... well, actually, we're all good guys, right?
