"I LOVE Valentines Day"

Valentines Day is a day for telling special people how you feel, so this is a little message to YOU, yes YOU our beloved members, readers and visitors.

You see, we love you.

Not in a creepy "guess your birthday, pester you for your name and address" type of love that makes you wonder if we're outside your house with a pair of night vision goggles and a slowly filled in map of your favourite places to eat.

No, we love you in a "couldn't be here without you" type way.

We always harp on about member numbers because it's a nice big number and it does mean something to us. But just as important is that our interactive numbers, amounts of comments, shares, likes, posts etc have all consistently stayed at a record level for us this year.

That means we're doing what we set out to do, creating a community for players (and we include all the admins in that, we are just players like you volunteering) who help each other, talk to each other, share jokes, rants and news with each other.

That's all we've ever wanted for Frontierville Express, and it makes us warm and fuzzy like a Love Bunny that you are part of it.

So on this Valentines Day, a day for letting the mushy stuff come out, we thank you sincerely for being here with us.

"I HATE Valentines Day"

Yes, here it is again, Commercial Nonsense Day when singles are pointed at in the street and couples are coerced into spending the gross national product of a small African nation on a square of flattened tree with a teddy bear on, some flowers that will die before the weekend and some chocolates that suddenly increase 500% in price simply because they've been placed in an anatomically incorrect "heart" box.

All by companies who know how to play on peoples desire not to be alone and to enjoy certain physical acts. (I'm thinking hugging, I can see where your mind has gone and frankly I'm disappointed in you.)

However, we have decided to join in the other Valentines tradition, using an arbitrary date as an excuse to say what we should say all year, but wait until it's Hallmark Approved.

We're really, REALLY glad you're here with us.

Mommy Dearest

Trapping wolves, cougars and grizzly bears, no problem.

Facing up to big mountain men on the Pigskin Park or Granny on the Ice Pond playing ice hockey, it's a breeze.

Rescuing Avalanche victims? Piece of cake.

Facing up to the love of your life's Mom? Now that's scary... and Ted is getting nervous because Annabell Walker, otherwise known as Mommy Bess is visiting the homestead...

As usual it all kicks off with a popup...

That will start a five step mission with a wrapper (all details HERE) and a four step build (all details HERE)

The build will be the Botanical Garden that Ted will build to try and impress Annabell and as a present for Bess...

Although as we go through the missions things don't exactly go smoothly... and we're going to need a fair old fight to help out.

Although, when we do manage to help out and Ted's personality shines through, well, special things happen...

So, propositions aside the next thing Ted has to do is get that botanical garden set up with some Topiary in the Wrapper mission that will release the 13th of Feb.

The topiaries are another random injured item, that start off with a standard bush...

Those are then chopped with 8 Topiary Shears, a request item....

And can then take one of five shapes, three of which will be needed for the wrapper mission itself.

Oh, and finally we will get a new free gift/Premium crop...

Love Notes

Valentines is coming up and there's nothing better than giving the person you love a letter to tell them how you feel, well, what about giving them one with something extra sweet attached!

Bert has come up with something that will streamline the process but still give you all the interaction you need with his patented Candy Heart Press.

As usual, everything will kick off with a popup.

This will start off a series of five missions and a wrapper (All details HERE) and a four step build, the Candy Heart Press (All building details HERE)

First up you pick your base poem...

Then you add in Candy Heart words that are crafted inside the Candy Heart Press (there are LOTS of words! See all crafting details HERE)

...and once that is done, you can send that letter to a friend!

Along with the new Press we'll also see two new crops that are free gifts or in the market....

...a new collection that gives them as a reward...

...and a few little Valentine decorations in the market that we'll get as mission rewards!

Saving Their Bacon!

There's an emergency on the Frontier!

The recent snows have built up on the mountain until it all became too much and we've had an avalanche!

That's trapped four climbers on the peaks and they desperately need your help to get them out of the snow and safe back down to base camp at the foot of the mountain.

As usual we'll see a popup to start the whole thing off...

This will kick off a four mission thread (all details plus future wrappers HERE) and a four step rescue of the four climbers (all details HERE).

The mountain itself will take over from Merryville on the right hand side of the screen, and will adapt as you do the missions to show the climbers being rescued...

We'll also have a small building on the Stead, the F.A.R.M. Building, Frontier Animal Rescue Members (I wonder how long they spent working out the M, guess we should be glad it's not Team).

That will drop daily Rescue Crates once the missions are done which are full of various items needed to heal up injured animals!

We'll see a new free gift crop...

...and a number of items in the market that will also double up as mission rewards.

...and here comes the best bit, they will also drop items for the rescue collection, which gives an Animal Ready Boost and four, count em, FOUR Red Eye Building Boosts!

But that's not all, because that might be tonight's goodies, but coming next Monday we'll be having to use F.A.R.M to find Ted (Possibly the world's most useless Frontiersman considering how often he needs rescuing)...

...and for that we're going to need some new Recruits for F.A.R.M... which leads us to another "heal and get something random" mission feature (see wrappers HERE).

This time we're taking Oinking recruits...

...and training them up using a Wall Post item, Rescue Skills.

Once trained they'll take on one of three forms, all of which we'll need one of each for the missions...

And once those missions are done... We may just find someone big, white and furry to join our homestead...

Bigger is Better

Yes folks, it's time to get bigger, and it's not just one expansion mission, we're doubling up with even a little more for those who are feeling flush!

Yes, the last two expansions that have been available for purchase are now going to roll to us all for missions, giving us a double boost to our stead size.

Obviously if you did purchase either or both, you won't receive the connected missions.

First up is the 51x51 missions, where we get some sturdy fences around our new land... (all mission details HERE)

And then we'll be clearing brush and setting up a New Land Party for the 53x53 set!  (all mission details HERE)

Each will require you to complete the missions then buy the land in the Land Office, 51x51 costs 10 Land Grants, 53x53 costs 11.

Finally, if you are a Horseshoe buyer there's new land for you as well, as we'll be seeing a brand new 55x55 Expansion in the Market!

So lets get growing!

The Candymen Can...

The trading brothers Bart and Bert are back in town preparing to get the homesteaders addicted to the sugar rush from their new Candy Shop!

The homesteaders love their sweet treats and you will too when you see all the amazing things the treats can do, because these aren't just ordinary confections, these double up as helpful boosts on the homestead!

As usual, a pop-up will herald the arrival of new stuff!

That new stuff amounts to a five mission thread (all details HERE) and a four step build, the Candy Shop itself! (All details HERE).

As you build the Candy Shop you'll have the chance, as we did with the Leatherworks and Smokehouse, to craft new sugary boosts to help you out on your homestead!

These will give you boosts ranging from a small boost of energy all the way through to TREBLE Fruit Tree drops! You can see a full guide to all the boosts, how to craft them and what they do HERE!

We'll also get two new crops, one free gift/HS crop and one coin, yes COIN crop!

They'll be in the market next to the new Gummi Bears and Butterscotch Cat, which is also a mission reward.

Finally we'll see not one, but TWO new collections!
